I created my inaugural new-apartment meal tonight. Frozen pizza and corn on the cob in the microwave do not count. I made a summer risotto with corn, tomato, and basil. It was quite tasty. And counter space galore. There was no need to prop my book on top of the bowl containing the pre-cut vegetables.

For some reason I only have one one-cup plastic measuring cup, and one glass one. I know I have other measuring cups, but I don't know where they are. The cups have marks indicating 1/4 cup and so forth, so it is not a large problem.

I will have a fair amount of time to practice cooking things in August. I knew a girl who bought regular salmon and dried it with salt; it seemed like such a nifty process. She also did up some crab cakes. I only made crab cakes once. Mmmm, crab cakes. And there will be lots of zucchini. I can make every recipe with zucchini in it. Mwahahaha.
