I went down to York PA yesterday afternoon for a lovely half-weekend. We saw The Devil Wears Prada yesterday - I liked it better than I thought I would, given the reviews I've heard, but it desperately made me want to go shopping, so I'm not sure that's necessarily a good thing. Still, Meryl Streep, man.

Today we went to wineries. In my limited experience, Pennsylvania wineries are surprisingly good. I mean, it's not California or Italy or anything, but they do all right. The key is to find the wines that they're known for, rather than the ones that you may happen to like. When CMS and I went to Sonoma, we did not find good whites because, we were told, good whites do not come from California.

So Pennsylvania seems to be good for sweet wines, overall, and some fruit wines. Today we went to Nissley, Naylor, and Mount Hope. Naylor was rife with Republican paraphernalia. Not that this would necessarily bother me in Central PA generally speaking, but, you know, please keep your pro-Santorum propaganda to yourself. However, Mount Hope was located between Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse, so that kind of made up for it. (If you hit Intercourse, you've gone too far.)

Now I am sleepy!
